Welcome Home Zachary

1 - 6 Months

Zachary came home on January 15, 2003, weighing 4 lbs. 5.6 oz.

His first few weeks at home went very well, and he weighed 6 lbs by his original due date of February 16. On that day, he was baptized.

Unfortunately, at the end of February, he came down with a bad case of RSV. He spent 4 days in the PICU at Albany Medical Center after having apnea at home and then a cardiac arrest in the emergency room. We also were told that his IVH (brain hemmorrhage) now appeared to be a grade 4. This was later confirmed by the neurologist.

He returned to Albany Med on March 21st for Bi-Lateral Inguinal Hernia Surgery, which went very well.

Since then, he has been happy and healthy. Although there are concerns about gross motor delays, his visual, language, social and cognitive skills are excellent.
